The benefits to the participating collectionsThe benefits of this project to the participating collections are significant. For many galleries in the country this will be the first time that their whole collection of oils has been made accessible to the public. This will raise their profile and attract more visitors. All transparencies of the paintings that are photographed by the Foundation together with digital images and catalogue information will be given to the galleries free of charge. This allows them to put the images and data on the Internet if they so desire. Once the catalogue goes on sale, revenue from sales in collection shops will be kept by the respective galleries and specifically earmarked for the restoration of oil paintings. After a suitable delay the whole catalogue will be put on the Internet and made available to the public for free.
